A track or porducer that defined and changed dance music production

Im sure this can be classed as banter. I need a track or porducer that changed dance music, any genre of dance, and made a change in the way it was produced.
anyone got any good ideas that would be easy to research. I need to do an 1800 word essay on it by friday.

theres so many but Kraftwerk is probably a pretty safe bet with loads of sources available.

check out 'Last Night A Dj Saved My Life'

Id put these lot down as pretty influential

    Derrick May (techno)
Tom Middleton/Mark Pritchard (ambient / deep house)
Sasha & Digweed (prog - not really artists but they have a fuck load of influence over a lot of artists)
    Aphex Twin (weirdness)
    Carl Craig (techno)
    Derrick Carter (chicago house)
    Jeff Mills (techno)
Daft Punk (best commercial yet underground dance act)
    Larry Levan (disco)
    Paul Van Dyk (trance)
    Richie Hawtin (techno)
    Francois K (everything)
    Paul Oakenfold (trance)
    Basic Channel (dub)
    Danny Tenaglia (house)

theres hundreds you could put tbh

could be an interesting essay...alot better than my PHP vs ASP.Net essay im writing

yeah it should be a pretty interesting one to do.
This is the basics of it

You are asked to write a short analytical essay of 1800-2000 words which could appear on a production analysis wiki. The heading for the wiki will include songs, production, and technology. As such, you are asked to create an entry on one of the following topics. Either:

    1. Choose a song for detailed analysis. Your discussion should demonstrate how your choice of song makes a contribution to the art of production.
    or

    2. Choose a producer and assess his/her contribution to the art of production. You should support your discussion by detailed analysis of his/her production techniques
    or

    3. The internet has significantly changed the way recordings are produced. Discuss these changes with detailed analysis of the production of a song, band or performer of your choice.

    wouldnt have a clue

I'd do it on Aphex Twin or Tom Middleton/Mark Prichard...loads of mental stories from them lot.

Middletons been quoted as saying hes sampled the sound of wind blowing through grass and used it in tracks while Aphex played a bit of sand paper on a turntable at one of his dj gigs

Carl Craig could also be good as hes done a shit load of different stuff from banging techno to jazz to laidback house and apparently he invented drum n bass with Bug In The Bass Bin (dunno how though)

another easy one would be Giorgio Moroder...be loads of stuff on him

if it doesn have to be dance music then check Nile Rodgers

Didn't he say that he used mathematic equations to produce "This Binary Universe" or something like that?
