Accidents @ work..

Havin just had my 2nd accident in 8 months @ work, I was just wonderin how ppl have injured themselves while at work..

My latest accident involved a 15ft fall out of a makeshift cherrypicker (a metal basket balancin on a forklift.. which incidently toplled..)

I had somethin like that happen a few month ago.. had to go to the eye infirmary and have a doctor scratch at my eye with a needle to dig it out

Bloody horrible excperience..

Despite being a little accident prone I've never had a (bad) accident at work.. I've banged my elbows on almost every door in the office but that's it.

I work in an office, So i often get the odd papercut.

Christ! I h8 papercuts.. I can take a fall at work or even metal in the eye but I can't stand papercuts..

wen i was workin in a hair dressers, i squashed me hand inbetween two big heavy doors. n broke a bone!!

i had a canny close call with serious injury at work.
used to work as a mechanical engineer at tdx team valley, gateshead.
i was working on a metal lathe one day and i had my overall arms tied around my waist.
as i was leaning over to drill my job the guide screws caught the arms of my overalls and began to pull me in. the guide screws were rotating at around 2000 rpm. when they began to pull me in i relised that was it. i couldnt reach the emergency stop button as i had one foot on the machine to try and stop me from gettin pulled in even more.

a few more seconds later my overalls had been torn off completely, catching on my ankle and twisting it as was being pulled in.

cud have easily lost a limb or in worst circumstances cud have died.

Sounds v nasty..

In my last accident I just managed to push myself away from the metal basket on the way down.. otherwise ot woulda landed straight accross the back of my neck..

I was lucky like..

iv sprained me knee at work - just bein me and walkin stupid!

i was in shock like.
ill not be doin that again in a hurry!

I was thinkin bout compensation.. cos I've nealry got an injury list in double figures..

But as I work for me dad, and I am probably goin to inherit the company, it would effectively be like suin myself!

Its a Electrical\mechanical breakdown company specialisin in cranes and hoist units..
In all honesty I probably won't inhert it, cos I know jack shit bout cranes..

This time I've split my heed open after it came in contact with a swinging hook.

I broke two fingers and two ribs @ work not too long back

Also had to fill out a near miss form on Friday when I was just missed by a falling engine......dangerous place Nissan

I nearly cut my arm off with a chain saw when it kicked back. Went right through the 'safety' coat right through my bicep and stopped just short of the bone. Its ok now but when I flex my bicep I look like popeye..

i fell down some maintenance ladders at nissan a couple of weeks ago
