    Addidas 'colouring in' shoe/trainer things?

Saw these at the Addidas shop in covent garden and carnaby street over the weekend.

You get a white pair of trainers and a packet of paint pens or something - the idea is that you customise your trainers with these and the paint fixes and goes permanent in five minutes.

Anyone got any or seen any results from them?

adicolours not feeling them at all. just like the rest of the 35th susperstars anniversary crap. much better off buying something classic like the red/white colourway japans, which will probably continue to increase in value after you buy them unless adidas does another dirty re-issue.

    word.

they're just a tacky gimmick, there's a shop in the northern quarter that does the same kind of thing as the ones in the indi, I was thinkin about it but reckon I'd be sick of them in a few weeks..

like you say tho chris, on the upside they'll go for hundreds on ebay in a couple of years..

    Thought as much.

I never thought i'd see the day where the trainers that we all laughed about my dad wearing in the grim 1980's would be the height of fashion in 2006  :king:

your not supposed to colour them in really. they are just collectors pieces. Its only the White series that come with pens etc. Red series is next week with different shoes designed by different people (Surface to Air, DQM etc). Its just another collectables series like 35th.

I dont get it (too old i guess) ... why sell a pair of white trainers with a load of pens for "colouring them in" when your not supposed to actually colour them in?!??!

because its a collectable thing. They are very Limited (most stores got about 10 pairs of W1, the top pair from the White range). So the price will go up, and people want them. Adidas is a massive brand with a massive following, and loads of collectors. Its just like the 35th thing really. The white series are the only ones with pens and stuff. The other series (blue. red, green, black, yellow) are just sets of trainers. Your hardly too old, haha, most of my big adidas collectors/customers are 40+.
