Ahead in Sheffield last night Mint night - just got in... shattered Hybrid - Superb proggy stuff Ben Lost PA at midnight was just incredible. Everyone in the club went nuts after the countdown .... amazing atmosphere. Matthew Dekay - Prog trance i think (cant remember a single part of his set!)... I remember loving it though Scot Bond & Hardwick - Another great show by the trance boys. Although the sound system broke for about 5 minutes at about half 3.... Nobody cared though Solarstone - No idea, i left at 4am .... Vin/Paul said they played Solarcoaster 3 times in 4 times though! Fantastic club, a bit grimy and 'underground' in feel but thats how i like it. The crowd all seemed enthusiastic and fans of the music and there were probably NO chavs or nobs around whatsoever. Even the doorstaff were friendly and had a bit banter with the people on the way in. I think vin said he gave a bouncer a fiver as a tip or something!!!! Well worth the trip down and a perfect way to end 2004 and ... let me have a break .. Hope everyone has a MINT time on the boat today
Re: Ahead in Sheffield last night Now thats "Luvd'up" innit Gotta get myself to Ahead in 05 - pleased you had a good night as well mate
vins 6am news report made me chuckle... all i could hear in the background was dj paul grunting away on his phone happy as a pig in swill
Re: Re: Ahead in Sheffield last night that beats even my lowest ebb of hugs on the dancefloor and kisses for jambon
Every dj was first class. Night built superbly. From prog and only a little bit of breaks really from Hybrid, through some more trancey prog from Dekay, to superb trance from Hardwick, Bond and Solar Stone. Cant remember loads of tunes, but 'Pixies - Gouge Away' got played by Hybrid. Ben Lost jumped over the decks, picked up a guitar and performed Jump the Next Train live at midnight. Jumping about to that was when i lost our hotel room key and all my supplies. Luckily DJPaul stepped on the room key and found it. Remember Dekay playing his mix of 'Beastie Boys - Intergalactic' and Hardwick playing Whiteroom. Dont remember loads else at the minute. Died off in the last hour. But i never tire of Solarcoaster. Pretty sure they played two different mixes b2b, played another tune, then put Solarcoster on again. Me and DJPaul hammering the 'gold' at that point. As Brid said, not a charv in sight. Good crowd, and the whole place was just dripping. Fanny better than any event ive been too. ps I gave the bouncer that fiver on our way out at the end, basically cos after the 'midnight incident', he let me go back to the hotel and come back in. Was so casual about it, wasnt a problem at all too him. 99% of bouncers would have said 'fuck off'. I said ' Happy New Year and gave him it. He looked quite pleased too.
