    Andy Cole,Andy Cole...

Middlesbrough are refusing to comment on suggestions that they are to make a January move for Blackburn striker Andy Cole.

With the Teessiders' desperately short of goals this season, manager Steve McClaren has admitted he will be in the market for a new striker when the transfer window reopens.

And Cole represents a potential cut-price solution to McClaren's problems.

The two men know and respect each other from their days at Manchester United, and it is understood Cole would jump at the chance of a return to the North-East, where he made his name with Newcastle.

The 32-year-old former England hot-shot is out of the Blackburn side at present after a reputed bust-up with Rovers boss Graeme Souness.

for 2 million, i'd snap him up.

proven striker in the premiership, something we havn't had since ravanelli.

hope it isn't just paper talk.

Yes, but the Boro' have a few strikers already, some used to be alright before they joined the Boro'...is the problem the supply line to the strikers...rather than the strikers themselves...?

i fail to understand what mcclaren ever saw in ricketts, and it is clear that maccarone just doesn't suit the english game.

time to move them both on, even if it is at a loss.

An old Andy Cole melody has sprung to mind:

Andy Cole, Andy Cole, Andy Andy Cole
He's big and black and loves his tac
    Andy Andy Cole

Lol, amusing at the time etc.

    What?

The supply line has greatly improved lately esp with Mendieta down the right, and at times Juninho or Zenden.

Missimo and the new Hamilton Ricard couldnt hit the proverbial cows ass. Nemeth can do a job but i think is way to underused and we are def missing Christie, at least he tries!

Agreed 100%, I still have faint hopes for pasta man after all its his second season and he hasn't had a decent run since last campaign, and we did sign him for the future. But he does look shit, i'd cut me losses with him if a decent offer came in. Ricketts is abysmal, simple fact, he needs captain spouthgate to boot him up the arse for everytime he falls over/misses a sitter/puts his head down/gets dispossessed. Nemeth is a good squad player, he deserves a decent run but still isn't always convincing. Same applies to Job. Christie looks the part tho, pity he's crocked.

Well then, looks like it's down to Steve Mac for some shite buys, was it something like 8.5million for Missimo, while he was still in Seria B (sp)!

    What was that all about:spangled:

He scored 1 for the under 21's n then came on as a sub for the first team the day after n scored the winner.

I think he has the ability but needs to get some confidence, sending him on loan for a while would help cos we need who can do the job now not next season
