Back-room Antics Here comes chrimbo and for your delight we have the: Trophy Twins a back to back spectacular featuring all the Always ressies all rounded off with an exclusive DJ Set and Live PA from Chicago House Legend, Mister Robert Owens! Lordy knows how we pulled it off! He'll be your friend though
Christ! Well done for landing that one! All on the same night as M.I.K.E, Hardwick & Kitikonti, I presume?
No, Robert is doing a New Year warm up on the 27th. Had the pleasure of getting to know him over the past few years, and DJ'd with him once or twice. Unlike a lot of the Chicago originals, he's still got it, still doing his own thing and not just living off his former (though still fantastic) glories. Only other Chicago orig. I rate is Felix Da Housecat and you all know about him.....
thought the back room was ded good on friday, u boys looked to b enjoyin urselfs! was amazin wen i walked in and silver screen shower scene was on (thin white dukes mix), love the tune, was the first tune i played that nite!!
Sweet Robert Owens!!!!!! hopefully this will be the start of the backroom booking big names!!!!! Fankooo pgr
Re: Back-room Antics Who's Robert Owens? Is he any good then?? ...... and this is all on the 20th when Matt, MIKE & Kitikonti are on downstairs????? best get working on that 2-places-at-the-same-time machine

Mr C & Robert Owens - A Thing Called Love Fingers Inc. - Can You Feel It (One of the tracks that started all this in the first place!) Fingers Inc. - Bring Down The Walls Robert Owens - Visions Photek - Mine To Give (The Morales Mix is perfection!) Robert Owens - Ordinary People Robert Owens - I'll Be Your Friend (a classic owens moment) it goes on and on.....and he's still fireing them off. Muzik magazine - "The greatest male voice in dance music" they've just released a best of double cd called Love Will Find Its Way - Buy it now!
*hangs head in shame* well I dunno mate, av only been into dance music a few years so he's before me time innit, and i'm a trance heed anyway mainly, just getting into me house of late if u reckon hes that good i'll come along and be educated ok! so is he up there with likes of Kerri Chandler we had back in March??? was that your doing un all??
How about the Red Nail posse (Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Chris Nazuka). er and Spencer Kincy (gemini) and Diz All Chicago born and raised, all been doin' it since back in the day and all still doin' it today. Back home for christmas so i'll miss Robert Owens
I would've suggested Carter, but for one, he's not really a backroom booking. For two, he'd probably blow some kind of decadal budget!
Just in case anyone is interested Mark Farina is spinning at Basics next saturday, and I for one can't fucking wait. See you down the front!
