Back! Back from Thailand eventually! Took a total of THIRTY SIX ours to get back home! :cry2: Flight delays galore, missed transport back from heathrow to sunderland, everything was fully booked bla bla blaaaa....luckily BMI to the rescue had a space left on a flight back to teeside, rescued! Here's Tong Ting Tuk Tuk - she is my new wife
Oh and btw - new year over there is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Full on water fights for 3 days - get pissed in the baking heat, dance in the streets and go wild with super soakers! LOVE IT! [/img]http://www.posterestantetravel.com/CACHE/TravelMag/Vol1,Issue4/Travel%20Notes/Songkran1.JPG[/img]
Amazing innit. Where did you go over there? We are going back at the start of June for 2 weeks. Flying straight to Phuket. Cannot wait!
absolutely fantastic!!! we only really went to bangkok (didnt really rate that place) and then off to Kau Samui for a while - loved it there!! i would def go back - but maybe just for a relaxing holiday on the beaches around the islands!
Cool. Bangkok is a shit hole, so we have managed to get an internal flight straight to Phuket. Gonna have a few days there, then get the boat over to Phi Phi and Krabi then travel over to Koh Samui/Phangan. Been 5 year since we have been. Are beach huts still a couple of quid in most places? food still cheap?
YEah thats what I would do next time, Koh Samui, make it to Phangan this time for party - missed it cos missed our flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui, so by time we could get there boats were stopped Want to try Phi Phi and Krabi - they look amazing!! Let me know what they like pls Well - on Koh Samui we were paying about 3,500Baht a night I guess you could maybe get cheasper - but I think prices are starting to hike all over Food aint too expensive - Average meal maybe 200-300baht!
Re: Re: Back! aye! personally didnt touch any of them cos im happily taken but the other lads did dabble a couple of times, and one 57yr old bloke will have knob rott by not - he was goin wild! spent a FORTUNE on one of them -0 bought her a new nokia and everything!
Fuckin hell, that is steep for a hut. Samui was a lot more expensive than Koh Phangan like. Gonna check out Koh Tao this time aswell. fool
unreal aint it!! were talking to sum birds from mylton kenes there who had found places for 800baht night - but they had no aircon!! there was a gud website on advert in the thai airways magazine - will try find it for you - like a expedia type thing but just for thailand
We were staying here for the main part of our stay in Koh Samui but on last night had to stay in little hotel attached to "Ark Bar" - was very basic and I think 1200baht per night.
absolutely boiling hot!!! i wouldn't go back in april again (hottest month of year for thailand!!) but then again, the new year (12,13,14,15th april) is amazing!! i think average was about 35-36degrees each day and felt like same at night!
Glad you had a good time Bri. Don't think we had one delay on any of our 8 flights, apart from Newc - Heathrow ones. Cheap flights though, so it's your own fault
getting there wa sspot on not a single delay, coming back tho... i also got eaten alive off flea's or something on the plane coming back!!! never ever flying long haul in economy again - ever!!! as of now im gonna pay the extra to fly direct, BUSINESS CLASS!!! worth it!
Thats what I said!! Your smaller than me too, I was so cramped! 13hrs of totally agony. Glad you enjoyed it Bri! What part of Koh Samui were you staying? Did you see the sights? Temples, trekking etc? It was about that heat when we were there in Sept. Think it was 34/35 degrees. You just constantly sweat
