    piss easy to get back

go in and say u want to speak to the branch manager

    contest ur side

when he says that he wont refund you

say to him u think it is ridiculous and that u wont to take ur business else where and close your account

if he still calls ur bluff

tell him u think it is sickening that u have been a customer for Xamount of years and the amount of business u have given them they want to throw all that away over a measly £30, say there an absolute joke and want to close ur account and go to their nearest rivals

if he still callsl ur bluff

    leave

he wont do though, he wont risk losing ur business for £30 and u will get it put back into ur account day later

it works for me everytime

all in theory yes but it has happened twice in the last four/five months, gone a few quids over at the end of the month, argued and got it back.

Last time they said it was the very last time but I never for a moment thought 5p would tip the balance.

It's First Direct as well they are usually spot on and I get free mobile phone and holiday insurance.

Suppose I have avoided £60 worth of charges prior to this, perhaps I should bite the bullet.

PS and there aren't any branch managers they are online only - call centres, boo!

Surprising, because I thought FD were a decent bank.

    5p is shocking still.

Phone girl was a bit moronic 'What do want me to do then?'

I got charged £80 for going £7 over last year! I went off it, and luckily know the tricks at my bank after working there for over 2 years and got em reversed.

Totally shocking how easy they will whack such a high amount on you.
