Who has claimed their last 6 years worth of bank and/or credit card charges back then?!

Im about to get back just under 2k in charges!

They tried the usual tricks then eventually offered £160 as a "goodwill gesture" - which has been refused and demand they refund in full or I take them to court

Never had one charge, im sensible with cash and don't use banks. Keep the money under me matress!

im sensible nowadays - but when i was younger and first discovered credit cards etc I was a right dick

can you pay you it back? i must be owed a few quid if thats the case

its a good start.

basic process is:

1st letter sent asking for details of charges applied to your account over the last 6 years.

2nd letter asking them to refund the money.

then the rest depends how quick they play ball

still though, i knew i could claim it back so I was really just saving in a different way :laugh:

i reckon i could probably claim about 500 quid back.Is this a new law that means you can do it or what???

yeah this works. my lass got half the amount of bank charges that have made against her back.

pretty much yeah. the bank charges are only fair if they are to cover banks costs.

they charge you £30 for a failed direct debit, when in reality it costs them a few pence to sort out - so this isn't fair, meaning they are in breach of some banking codes.

she could have held out for the full amount mate - offering half, or a percentage of the charges as a "good will gesture" is just them trying to be sly

denied it point blank at 1st. said i agreed to their terms and conditions.

then they said the charges were only applied to cover their cost, so no refunds would be given.

then they offered a tester, to see if i would take less...

so did you just keep replying saying you wanted the full amount back?

did you just say i want my money back or put all the legal babble in? ie quoting ansons or whoever that contract dude is?

yeah u need to quote the legal stuff but fact is they KNOW they will loose if they goto court.

so they will delay as much as poss and try put u off.

keep at it and u will get your cash back, even if you DO have to goto court

There are people who are doing this and the banks are closing their accounts instantly and demanding payment back for their overdraft


I did it and got £120 back but just watch it

me and paula are gonna do this, the money we get back should cover our overdraft limit

i'm going to see if i can get any back...had loads ages ago but i can't remember if it was longer than 6 yrs ago
