tons of metros and buses. reasonably cheap, just find 1 of the nicer smaller estates - there's LOADS of new builds around. plus, decent high street to buy ANYTHING. 3 miles from newc, 5 mins from coast.

However, most people will say live south of the river

Fenham - urban decay at its best
Heaton - urban renewal at its best

I loved living in Fenham, it reminds me of the south london ghetto i currently live in....always something going on and a nice mixture of people

Heaton needs more pubs and then it will be right up there

Jesmond is good if you're called Verity or Giles

Summerhill is beautiful. Cobbled streets, conservation area, 1830s buildings, a small park, very quiet and friendly (at least my street was) and only fifteen minutes walk from the centre of town (ten from Digital).
