    it's a funny one this

it's like kinda chilled trance synths over fairly minimal housey percs

i'm not sure i'd traditionally call this trance however

    nice melodies though

and to be honest it sounds a bit amateur, like my efforts really

Well of course he's not an amateur, but the track sounds very thin, quite empty really, it's nowhere near driving enough to be what I consider to be trance. I could call it trancey, but not trance. It was more like minimal with raj synths than owt else.

But I do see where your coming from.

I actual prefer the B-side Berghain to Winter.

Don't know what stephen going on about the production is really class.

Love the random snares going off all over the place on the tracks.

Really loving alot of this kind of stuff on kompact at the moment. The Partcial arts tracks was great as well.

For that particular subgenre perhaps, but I was saying production wasn't up to much in comparison to more traditional trance tracks. You know what I mean :p

    Not really no.

But i like stuff thats alot more raw anyway i find trance far too overproduced.

Well Si was saying it was trance, in comparison to more traditional trance these days, it's very empty and aside for the bassline & synths, is fairly bare sounding, and not particularly driving. But I don't think that's what this track is about so that's fine.

It doesn't have the energy of a "proper" trance track, if you understand where I'm coming from, and in that respect "it wouldn't be up to much" if compared to that of John O'Callaghan for example.

But it's a completely different subgenre of "trance" and that is a whole new argument :D

Its more of a house Tempo Trance track.

The production is really good though its that it minimal in the amount of effects and sounds used i like that though.

The track crosses over alot styles though house/trance/minimal to me thats a good thing.

I think you'll find its a hell of a lot closer to "proper trance" than any of the shit that is released on labels like Armarda these days ;)
