    Blood taken

    Just had my blood taken again.

    I have to have it done every 2 week!!

    Managed not to feel faint this time!! Last time was so hung over started sweating and almost pasted out!! What a wuss!! lol:lol:

    I hate blood n stuff, last time i was in hospital having my blood taken it wasnt too bad though...i was watching it going through the tube like those swirly straws u can get :dunce:
    Normally im a bit :spangled: about stuff like that...how come u have 2 have it taken every week now hun? :(

    Just the tablets i'm on for my arthritus, mean i can become anemic (Blood doesn't clot when you cut your self). So they have to keep an eye on me!

    My lass is anemic, its got worse now that she is pregnant, she takes loads of iron tablets to get rid of it:)

    Ive heard about that before..normally like u get a scab when u cut urself, but it just doesnt? I didnt think it was very common..:confused: Or is it not?

    Its common in females according to the doctor, even more so then theres 2 babies taking most of your iron. She's fine, the tablets work so its no problem.

    Anaemia is due to a lack of iron in your blood which affects the oxygen carrying capacity of the haemoglobin.

    Blood not cloting is due to a lack of the hormone thrombin iirc, tho not sure what extent this affects or cause anaemia

    Ive tried to give blood twice but chickened out. :cry: It just looks so nasty. :( If i didnt have to queue for like 2 hrs , I think Id be ok. No time to wimp out ;)

    Hope ur ok Mark. Sounds fairly nasty. Does your arm not bruise? Mine does when I get injections :cry2:

    I only ever felt sick once after a blood test. I just wanted to get out when it was over

    Is that for Japanese encephalytis (sp?)? If so I've had those jabs. Didn't realise it was mouse brains!
