Book recommendation...... I've decided that my knowledge of history is seriously lacking so I want to get hold of a book that will give me a rundown of the main points of history. I can then determine which bits i want to focus on from there any recommendations?
here Ive just read "the politically incorrect guide to Islam". Now I see why americans are so fucking stupid, reading things like this wash you straight into ideal conditioning. Fucking twats.
Re: Book recommendation...... save money cruise wikipedia until you find some period/civilisation that interests you. i love reading old greco-roman historians like josephus... but they'd bore the arse off most people.
Re: Re: Book recommendation...... I enjoy reading about Hannibal, and how he fucked the Romans up. Plus marching elephants over the Pyrenees is a pretty awsome achievement

been looking all morning at that but its split into timelines (e.g. 1700-1900) whereas i want a book that is ALL times
I don't think you'll ever get anything like that, unless you make it more country/region specific. Even then it might be difficult. Sounds daft, but have you thought of more of a children's/school book?
they definitely exist, i saw one a while back in Borders but didnt get it trip to the bookshop in order....
