    Cannabis to be reclassified!!

What the hell is the point in the government spending millions of pounds on research and expert advice if they're not going to listen to a fuckin word they say!!!!

ARG, ffs sake man, and tbh i couldent see much change when they changed it to class C, apart from - of course, alot less people being put in prison. i'm sure it's been said a million times by a million people - if your going to make hash a class B drug, you may as well make alcohol and tobacco class A, for the sheer damage that it's doing to people and society.

(i say that as a drug taking, alcoholic smoker)

the fact that they are planning on having cannabis as a class B but have Ketamine as a class C says it all really.

this is so funny - just a few years ago they de-classified it - now, for some reason - probably to appeal to voters, after all DRUGS KILL INNOCENT BABIES - they're now ignoring the experts and doing what they want?!??!?!?!!!!

the goverment has never seemed in so much in disarray! brown is fucked!

Its nothing to do with research pretty much.

Gordon Brown is on his last legs as prime minister, and he cant do anything else between now and the next election than come out with knee jerk policies to hopefully curry some favour from 'middle england' and claw back a few votes.

With any luck, the tories will stick it back to class C when they get back in power, since the economy will be so fucked that the idea of wasting police time and money to go after people with weed, ... will sound like madness.

hahaha, this country is going to spiral into chaos in the next few years if nothing actually good happens for the regular joes.

*they make tax worse for people on lesser income.

*they make going to the dentist a fucking massive clart on getting yourself on benefits to get it free ( ;) ) or make it such an expense you'd rather see them rot out.

*they raise tax on our drink and tabs.

*they make our hash more illegal.

    fucking shit this country like.

(oh wait, hold on - they extended alcohol licence hours, which has done more bad than good)

    pathetic

Ket isnt a vote winner, cause the masses dont know anything about it.

Its like the final days of Rome, or Stalinist Russia at the moment ..... desparate moves to try and keep the 'machine' alive.

Final step ... "War on Drugs" .... yeah right ;)

    Yeah i agree with that.

I really dont buy their argument that weed has got stronger in the last few years, you could get strong weed when i was a teenager but it was more expensive to come by and didnt last as long so me and most of my friends stuck to hash (or the horrible shite they pass as hash in this country) however as i got older i realised that weed was a lot nicer smoke and didnt tend to contain half an Asda carrier bag, hence why i only smoke weed now if i can help it. strong weed n a slightly fried brain seems more appealing to me than inhaling petrol and plastic.

The daft thing is when this whole thing blows over an they no longer beleive their own spin there will be absolutely no chance of it getting downgraded again because its been handled this time in such a farsical way.

I hate with a passion, politicians who claim that "extended drinking times have made things worse, hence we're going to tax drink more as a result"

utter bollocks, the problem lies with people getting tanked up on cheap drink before they go out, that they've bought... from their nearest asda. Its got fuck all to do with pubs/bars/clubs.

And what do they do to try and address it? Put tax up on alcohol again, hitting everyone but the supermarkets, who can afford to make a loss on it.

I can say hand on heart that I've voted against this government since I was old enough to and will continue to do so until they stop preaching this nanny state bullshit.

Canabis is a drug you choose to do or not .... unlike alcohol where you are literally brainwashed from a very early age that this is the solution to your problems as an adult.

If aliens landed on this earth tomorrow they would laugh their merry green arses off at our 'logic'....

What a load of bollocks - it'll just mean more dangerous, more criminally minded dealers will enter the market.

With it going up to Class B the penalties will increase the risk for your average smoker, and therefore increase the rewards for dealers - it means more and more people will buy their weed instead of growing it, which only makes matters worse by playing into the hands of the serious hardcore element of the drug trade.

Decriminalise "personal" use to, say, three plants - less people would use shite hash and the use of skunk would fall IMO

In regards to late night drinking, there's still the mindset in the UK of going out early. You used to have to go out at seven or earlier to have a good sesh (Australians I know go out at around ten or eleven and think I'm an alcoholic for wanting to go out earlier). Most people are probably still going out at the same time, but staying out for longer, and therefore getting more pissed. It will take 5-10 years for people to change their ways and start drinking later in the day, and old fuckers will probably never get used to it.

Disagree. By simply being born in Britain you are automatically in the top 10% of the worlds population in terms of life expectancy, wealth, health etc etc etc.

I would much rather live in Britain than Burma, Zimbabwe, an Austrian cellar...

But the price actually went up and the dealers stayed the same?

Sentencing or classification does not establish who decides to sell.

it has got stronger - well actually it's more to the point that it's much harder to get hold of the more traditional non-skunk types of grass, and most non charvers won't touch tack unless they're desperate due to the story's about the amount of plastic and other shit that ends up in the tack.

thing is though that skunks not really much stronger per pound (money not weight) than tack or grass (well what grass used to sell for), and it's not like the kids who'd do 10 buckets of tack before getting too stoned to do any more, will be doing 10 buckets of skunk.

I mostly gave up smoking weed years ago other than the odd time at parties and stuff, and know a few peeps who've had problems with it, but I fail to see how having the ability to put someone in jail for 5 years just for possession is going to help anybody.

this lot really are turning out to be a fucking joke like:evil:
