Fully comp USUALLY allows you to drive any other car 3rd party - with the owners permission - AND it doesn't include stuff like ferrari's

If you cause an accident and either cause injury to a 3rd party (pour example another driver) or damage to a car their car they can claim from your insurance. Bare minimum requirement for insurance.

Car insurance works on the prinicpal of insuring the car not the driver, therefore you as a person can't get a policy to cover you to drive any car...........

The only possible way that im aware of is traders insurance, at which point you need trade plates also

I'm fully comp and it says on my policy i can drive ANY car 3rd party (subject to to small print)

3rd party = if the accident is your fault, it'll cover the costs to the other (3rd party) person - you have to deal with your own repairs out of your pocket.

I know 2 people who dont have a business and they have a traders policy, no trade plates required....as long as you sit down and fill out the forms carefully then there are ways around it.....

....I know of people who have traders policy for £3000 and another person who gets theirs for £1800

P.s. If your fully comp then you might have the driving other cars extention, as mentioned above. This covers you for driving any other car that IS NOT owned and registered by you, with the owners permission on a Third Party ONLY basis....The owner DOES NOT have to have their own insurance, however as soon as you step out the car it then becomes uninsured and therefore it is illegal to leave it on a public road.

Third Party Only cover means that if you hit or damage anything then your own insurance pays out for the 3rd parties damage costs, you will not be covered for yourself or the vehicle you are driving...Hence the name - 3rd party only

If you don't have a car, insure yourself for someone else's and make sure that you have the "drive any car" option. Simple.

Cant do this, as the driving other cars extension applies to the policyholder only and not the named drivers on the policy
