Cooking Im cooking this thing and on the packet it says I need to boil water and then simmer for 20 mins...I duno what that means what does simmer mean? And do I just put water in but not too full?
Re: Cooking Hasnt your mum got a restaurant? Can clearly see your following her footsteps lol Smiiering is when is stop bubbling heavilly on the boil, and just bubbling very lightly
Re: Cooking simmer is like a gentle boil... in that there are only a few bubbles appearing... an yeah don't have the water too full! bless.
Re: Re: Cooking No its not my mums she doesn't own it so I won't be following her footsteps So ive had it on full heat for ten mins but it said simmer it won't have overflowed has it?
Simmer as Jambon says is on a low heat (usually the lowest that the hob has, like gas 1) It should say how much water is needed though?
I duno I didn't read the FULL details just the general jist of it I just filled the pan with what I thought was right amount
you put destuctions instead of instructions didn't you? the freudian slip bit was cos you were supposed to put instructions but were thinking she would mess it up or destruct it so you put that?! :spangled:
