    His latest album NY muscle is more of a move away from electro and into wonky IMO with tracks feat. Erlend Øye and James Murphy from DFA.

    I am not 100% sure what Wonk is, I only read what was in last months Mixmag & they called it "a thinkings man electro", is that what wonk is

    As I understand wonk encompasses and embarrasses many different genres taking in elements from funk, disco, hip hop, house, broken beat, electro, techno. Because wonk is near limitless in it’s possible combinations, as a genre it will never die out like 2step or happy hardcore……

    Wonk is unique because of the fact that it influences and is influenced by eveything. It's like a spinning wheel, a visciuos circle, it's just off centre and it's here to stay.

    Spence mate get digging, some real top stuff out there. Apart from Hell, another set of producers cited as pioneers of the sound are the likes of Etienne De Crecy and Alex Gopher etc. The new Super Discount project will completely redefine dance music when it's complete, really forward thinking wonk.

    In addition to this check out anything on Get Physical, the producers on this label are producing some top quality wonky stuff, especially DJ T and Booka Shade..
