there is indeed something strangely unique about someone who takes a guesty off you , then sends you a message saying see you friday night I am coming down with person x , we are really looking forward to it, then doesnt show.

end of the day it makes little difference to the finances of the event as said people were getting freebies anyway, but when you look at the lay of the land as a whole, you think to yourself, well really the trance newcastle bunch are a terribly fickle bunch, nee point booking trance type djs really.

seems like a storm in a teacup to me...

melt bawws about someone not turning up for a guesty at a detox event, and nothing of value was lost.

Yet still feels the need to come on here and moan about it, when precisely no one actually gives a fuck.

Just because people say they want to see a specific DJ, or even have a guest list place, it doesn't mean they'll actually turn up. It isn't necessarily fickle, it just means that they have something else to do, or don't feel like it.

Having said that, I don't know that the concept of 'fickle' works in the first place in clubbing terms. 'Loyalty' to clubs, nights, genres, even clubbing, is a complete fallacy.

One person doesn't show up, so that means Newcastle clubbers are fickle, and that trance is a waste of time? Slightly ironic that you'd change your opinion based on one person ;)

I can just imagine you legging it round in a mad craze screaming "WHERE IS HE!?!?!", whilst pulling your hair out.

you don't get it - one person not turning up is a personal affront to the saviour of dance musicâ„¢ and a slur on everything he holds dear ;)

I just dont see the point in people pretending they are going. taking guesties then informing you a few days before they are still going, to still not show

obviously if theres a major emergency fair enough, but otherwise its just plain rude, the guesty could be given to another far deserving person.

from what ive seen locally, this is more prevalent on the trance scene than with any others:

Eh? So you think trance fans have this new game they play where they pretend they're going out, then they're not?

I don't think there's any correlation between people missing nights, and the type of music it is.

Anyway, why are you telling everyone here? You didn't even say who it was, just that 'somebody' didn't come out to play. That's as interesting as someone telling me they once bought a coconut.

I think if you bother to read through the thread you will find i refer to this as doing an armstrong

if you had a brain which clearly you dont, then you may work out the person is indeed called armstrong, whihc fidla confirms a few posts later

finally, theyve done this several times before as have others all who profess to be great lovers of trance, thats why the only trance nights that will ever acheive anything in newcastle longer term are those that pander to putting armin, ferry, van dyk on as in the whole scheme of things its only the big hyped up names that these people bother to go out to see

people may think thats harsh but its pretty much fact

which is why, vuzz, twisted logic, promise etc etc etc, all wound down eventually.
