    Drugs and Dance music...

first, this is me trying to be serious so pls don't start talking about your own habits or anything else that may get this thread deleted. thank you :)

    right...

dance music and drugs have a close association, you can't get away from that fact.
drugs kill people and ruin peoples lives (not every1 but some)
it is mostly young people who like dance music and go to clubs, therefore its mostly young people putting themselves at risk.

are you happy to be part of this culture?
would you let your kids/younger siblings be part of it?

btw i am not in any way trying to say that promise condones drug use or even fuel it... jus wanting to get peoples opinions.

lastly i hope this thread doesn't get deleted but can understand the reasons if it does :)

I would say this is a false statement.

Drug ABUSE kills people and ruins lives.

lack of education/knowledge and 'normal' drug use can kill too.

    hydration levels etc, overheating

also nasty chemicals mixed in with drugs can kill after 'normal' doses.

a lot of ecstacy fatalities are from dehydration/overheating when the person has only had one or 2 pills, does this mean that every1 who has one or 2 pills is a drug abuser?

No one ever says anything about people who go out, drink a couple of bottles of spirits, and then put themselves into a coma. but drugs are bad (mmmmk).

Admittedly recreational drugs could have a long term effect on your mental health but would you rather die of some form of cancer or risk losing it later on in life.

It seems its one set rules for boozers and another for users

    Re: Drugs and Dance music...

Kids or young people end up in some scene sooner or later, be it getting shagged up against a brick wall, boozing it up in the big market, or popping pills in night clubs.... its inevitable.

These days i look at regular clubs like baja being more dangerous places than "drug" clubs (heavy irony there) - the number of people who are off their faces on booze, fighting etc.. is worse than what you get at clubs like promise. If anything i might rather want my kids to be boshing the pills with their friends, than out getting lairy in some wanky mainstream cattle market.

Am i happy to be part of this culture - for the short term, yeah i am - although i know its not good for me in the long term,.... week in, week out would probably have serious effects on my health and life - not because of drugs. But because the cycle of drinking, late nights and hangovers etc have a habit of making people (me included) a bit more lazy in their real lives etc... Im glad i only manage to do nights like these once every few months - I know i'd do it every week though given half the chance :)

I know. I was just asking why it is seen as ok to drink excessive amounts, yet having anything else is frowned upon.

Just because its legal doesn't make it good for you

Re: Re: Re: Drugs and Dance music...

Apologies my dear Joe for making such a broad generalisation.

I agree with you - I wasn't trying to make a categorical statement as such just point out that what was said was false. To be fair both are generalisations not facts I would say mine was more accurate however! :p

i wud rather c my kids or younger siblings go to clubs that i go to than clubs like baja & the likes....

the people are more friendly, you're less likely to get hit/glassed etc, ppl tend to ask u if you're alrite in places like promise so u'd b well looked after if needs b....

basically in this day in age there are not many kids who are not at sum point going to get introduced to some sort of drugs...

i wud like to think that my kids wud b able to say no but if they did then to b educated enuogh to make it as safe as possible for them if they did!

& clubs like promise etc play better music than the shit they play in cattle market places! :D

would you want to know if they did have any involvment with drugs?

i'm not so sure, but then again i owuld want them to feel the need to lie to me. but i suppose ignorance can be bliss.

    Drugs are destructive...

There are many uneducated twits on this site who will take what you say as fact, drugs are very dangerous and can kill... Find me one drug that doesn't have long term effects and I'll eat humble pie.

Drugs Have always been taken in Society. Alchol Kills more than E but is considered safer as normaly its a slow Death over years rather than Straight away. Don't get me started on cigs.
I think that MDMA generally has a positive affect on people in Moderation the problem is if we like something we tend to do it again and to excess and thats when the problems start.
MDMA makes you less likely to be in Fights, more friendly and also gives you a love of music in most case's.
Without MDMA you would not have the dance scene as we have it know.
Personally i think its a lot safer in moderation than most drugs and if your going to abuse it. Your likely to abuse other Drugs as well if you can not get it.
I would not have a problem with any one trying it as long as it was one off and they were safe, right enviroment etc.
long term leave it to the professionals
    :D
