Not really Pike. Only for the big name DJ's who can’t evolve and play new material.
Oh, that will be most of them then wont it. Fortunately it will clear the way for new faces to brighten the scene.

Scenario 1: Big DJ1, I get loads of cash and just play safe crowd pleasing records. It doesn’t get any better than this. They will come regardless because I am a big name. Oh no, I've bored the crowd to death! *Fumbles for a generic track that has ‘Silver’ or ‘Bath’ in its title*

Scenario 2: Big DJ2, I like to play harder and harder, the crowd love it, they really do. Oh no, it appears as if I have been working in an iron foundry with all this empty banging noise. I have sickened the crowd with super cool hardcoresque music.

I like to think the following applies:

‘As ye sow, so shall ye reap’

    Lee.

    Nice words Lee.

There is still good trance out there. You just have to look dfor it and be prepared to take a few risks.

The likes of John Kelly and Judge Jules wouldnt have a clue. People like yourself and John"00" Fleming dont conform. And i like it. Hopefully Yves will be a bit different this Friday too.

I loved Bacon & Egg Woppa but they took them away from me too! Their will always be a place for trance and that will be the 1998>>2000 part of my music libary!

Obv. Lee Foster etc. wont change their sytle but I expect a few teenagers wannabies will be considering hardening up their acts. Whats the point in being a DJ if you are going to play to empty dance floors?

Myself has been a true supporter of psychi goa trance which is may i add the only genuine form of trance which still exsist and there is many a sucessful events held all around the world from countries such as mexico , south africa , japan and not forgetting israel .........

And since about late 97 where acts and djs claimin to be trance this and that ... are nothing more than 2nd rate efforts ...and still are .

    Evolution and egostism...

    *Sniggers*

Since early man first danced around fires, chanting to the moon and stars, drums have been beat, wind instruments blown, and voices chanted in chorus. The intended purpose was to place the participants into a state of trance.

This repetitive structuring, or format, of the musical form, has been copied throughout the ages in all genres. Whenever you hear a piece of music, and for a few seconds, find yourself drifting away, enjoying the rapture of the melody, before snapping back to reality, you have been enjoying a trance.

Goa trance was not the originator of trance and it does not have sole ownership; it is very pretentious and egotistical to claim this.

2nd rate efforts? Dear me, you need to get out more.
