Oi, reposter. Fancy deleting my thread since this is a bit better? Might as well repost what I initially said here.

Anybody know anything about this night then? Is it basically a new take on Neuroscience or what? If so, I am very glad to see it's return! Was doing pretty well at one point and the only decent Trance night in town for yonks.

Maybe a bit silly putting it on the same night as Warped will be like, seeing as it's pretty much the only other regular trance night in town at the moment?

Sure I seen that Daniel Kandi was on

    Mat Zo is quality however

Still cant understand all these trance nights in Newcastle away from Digital, especially if there starting to clash. Cant see the point in it

GUEST DJ FOCUS - MAT ZO

    Biography

By mid-2007, Mat Zo had remixed for Andy Moor, Markus Schulz, and he became a DJ household name after Tiesto hired him to remix “Driving To Heaven”, and the remix appeared on Tiesto’s internationally recognized “In Search Of Sunrise 7” CD compilation.

Mat Zo quickly worked up the ranks to become one of the most sought after progressive dance music producers in history. He has played in such cities as Holland, Germany, Ukraine, Ibiza, India, and various cities in England. Mat Zo’s global reach multiplied when his Zoned monthly radio program was picked up by Afterhours.fm the summer of 2008.

2010 has been Matan’s biggest year yet, with the release of a swathe of stunning productions such as “24 Hours”, “The Lost”, “The Found”, “Near The End” and more. His debut mix compilation arrived in May in the form of “Anjunabeats Worldwide Volume 2” on which he shared mixing duties with Super8 & Tab. In just the space of a few months he has played everywhere from the hallowed halls of the UK’s Godskitchen and Ministry of Sound to Armin’s ASOT 450 party in Poland, even finding the time to tour across Australia with label buddies Above & Beyond, Jaytech and Super8 & Tab with Future Music Festival.

Mat Zo has gained tremendous support by the world’s top DJs, including Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Above and Beyond, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Andy Moor, and Airwave. He has numerous releases out on such labels as Intuition, Armada, and Anjunabeats, and continues to produce varied electronic music, ranging from drum and bass, to trance and progressive house. His monthly Zoned radio program can be heard on afterhours.fm, and his guest mixes can be heard on numerous highly rated radio stations. The future looks very bright for this young producer/DJs career. We have only seen the beginning.

    Interview

Audio Rehab - Hi Mat, how are you - Are you up to anything nice today?

Mat Zo - I’m very well thanks, today I’m responding to interviews. Fun times! :)

AR - Tell us a little about what you have going on right now - Any big releases in the pipeline?

MZ - I’ve just finished some collabs with some very talented artists, and there are more in the pipeline for the future. Im also still working on my album which is shaping into something big!

AR - 2010 was a great year for you with lots of gigs, and successful releases - What were your highlights?

MZ - Playing in Taiwan for almost 10,000 was definitely up there. Others include playing at ASOT 450 in Wroclaw and Guaba in Cyprus. Topping the trance and drum and bass beatport charts at the same time wasn’t bad either.

AR - As well as making massive trance/progressive tracks, you also produce drum & bass under your MRSA alias - Can you tell us some more about that project and how you got in to the drum & bass scene?

MZ - Drum and bass runs through my veins just as much as trance so I’ve always been meddling in that kind of music. Its only recently that I started to really develop my sound into something good. Now I release dnb tunes on hospital records which I consider to be one of the best drum and bass labels out there. It took a while but I got there in the end!

AR - What other producers or DJs to you admire? Are there any names that we should out for in 2011?

MZ - Arty looks like he’s going to be heading straight to the top this year, and I hope he does! Audien is making quite an impact as well.

AR - Finally, tell us what we can expect from you at Audio Rehab - Are you looking forward to coming to Newcastle?

MZ - It will be my first time in Newcastle and I cant wait. The only thing I’m worried about is not understanding the geordy accent in a loud club. Im sure i’ll manage :D Other than that, expect some bangin tunage!

GUEST DJ FOCUS - MARK ETESON

    Biography

It takes something special for Global dance giants Godskitchen when headhunting a new resident - they have to be more than just an up & coming DJ talent. As an established producer, with number one singles and stunning remixes for top Artists across the entire music spectrum; a fully-fledged radio producer and presenter with 3 monthly shows and a podcast in his broadcasting arsenal and a sense of individuality and style that makes him stand firmly ahead of the crowd of other generic trance DJs; Mark, is a complete artist: performer, presenter, and producer.

Mark’s insatiable studio creativity has gathered him support from a who’s who of the dance music scene, whether it be from his debut release “Atlantic” in Paul van Dyk’s Essential mix, the 6-week consecutive running stint of his “Cherry Whip” bootleg on Judge Jules’ BBC Radio One Show or notching the coveted number one spot on Beatport and iTunes feature of “The Hymn” with classical singers Zirenz on Anjunabeats, which went on to become one of the labels most successful tunes of the year.

Mark’s radio personality has grown from the humble beginnings of a 3-year University Radio Show through to guest slots at Ministry of Sound and all the way to where he is now, having not one but two Godskitchen Radio shows under his belt on a monthly basis, an exclusive Afterhours.fm show and not forgetting the hugely successful Highway Radio Show and Podcast whose army of fans download it on a fortnightly basis. At last count, across the 4 shows he produces, compiles and presents, Mark’s estimated listenership tops the 1 million mark. Now that really is something to broadcast about!

    Interview

Audio Rehab - Hi Mark, how are you - Are you up to anything good today?

Mark Eteson - I’m actually in prep-mode today, an inbox of glittering promos awaits me, hence the early start!

AR - Things seem to going really well for you - You’ve had releases on big labels like Anjunabeats, Vandit and Garuda, you’ve also played gigs all over the world and are resident for Godskitchen. What’s been your personal highlights so far?

ME - Yeh, 2010 was a great year production-wise especially. Of course I had the pleasure of playing some awesome crowds, Kiev Global Gathering as always was a highlight, Minsk in November was stunning and you can see the video from that on the front page of my website…I played a cruise in Cyprus off the coast of Ayia Napa which was interesting! All in a days work ;-) But emphasis last year was definitely productions, which you’re all going to be seeing filtering through now onwards - the first having been the single with Aruna - “Let Go” on Anjuna, it was a pleasure and an honour to work with someone so incredibly talented and professional at the same time…

AR - Tell us a little about what you have going on right now - Any new projects or releases coming up?

ME - Well first as I’m sure a lot of you are aware, the first single is “Blackboard”, recently tune of the week on ASOT, that’s out March 8th on Garuda, 5-6 weeks after that is “Jumeirah” on Monster - a label I’ve become closely involved with recently. They have also signed my 3rd upcoming single “Universal Language” which will be out in May/June time. I also have a collaboration with Second Sun which I’m in the process of getting signed right now - so PLENTY!

AR - Can you tell us a little bit about how you got into DJing and producing - Do you have any tips for anyone?

ME - I got in through a combination of the following, in no particular order ha: cheekiness, talent, sheer grit and determination, self-motivation, making friends with the right people, hard work, self promotion. There is no one single route to making it, it’s just a case of not giving up and believing in yourself. But if you ever want to be a DJ, you absolutely need to be making music not just playing it.

AR - What other producers or DJs to you admire - Are there any names that we should out for in 2011?

ME - I admire everyone in this scene, from the new producers doing it from their bedrooms, to the DJ’s rocking stadiums and commanding concerts. Personally, I admire Deadmau5 for blowing up in ONE year, for milking that brand and being one of the most technically gifted producers out there, Tiesto for spawning the SuperSuper DJ trend, Armin for proving trance can do it ALL the way, Emery for switching the check shirts for Elvis Jesus and becoming the “cool” DJ to watch, Oakie for buying me a fish and chips, Jerome Isma-Ae for putting me in a headlock…the list could go on, it’d be like a speech at the Oscars!

AR - Finally, tell us what we can expect from you at Audio Rehab - Are you looking forward to coming back to Newcastle?

ME - I can’t wait, I’ve played Newcastle 2-3 times and the crowd have always been bang up for it. Near enough to Scotland where you get the “‘ere we, ‘ere we, ‘ere we….” chant, but just outside so I still feel British, HA! No offence to the Scots intended :)

    AR - Any final words?

ME - Good night, God Bless - and see you on the dancefloor, standard procedure!
