    i got on the metro at about 5.15 and an announcement came over that 4 lane ends metro had just reopened so i assume the metros were just going straight through?

    my boyfriend got the bus from town to his house in longbenton and it took him well over an hour to get there said the roads were horrendous :(

    My m8's mam owns the hairdressers next door (I think it's next door.. she said the neighbouring buildings had to be evacuated) and ended up losing a few hundred quid worth of business. Early finish I suppose..

    Its been announced gonna continue tomoz with the roads being blocked n diversions, id best leave now with a packed lunch for work it will be fucking chaos :eek:

    Total nightmare to get back before the police didnt even believe i lived actually in the estate behind the shops...

    just live round the corner from kwik fit all our streets were blocked off but the police told me it was four lane ends metro station with a fire

    took an hour to get to work normally 15 mins

    just looked on bbc and it says on there it was a fire in kwik fit so fuck knows what the daft copper was on about who told me it was a fire in the metro station

    when i went past on the metro about 2pm four lane ends was closed

    the reason for the super long closure was due to a setaline gas cylinder that they were worried would blow up, according to the BBC tonight.
