Funky Hooooouse In a bit of a predicament. Having a gathering next weekend, with my mates coming over. Now, they're not particularly keen on dance music...so basically me bashing out trance all night is a no go. Just wondering if anyone can recommend any fairly recent commercial sounding funky house, as I'm thinking I'd rather play something like this than the latest club classics from dj sammy/ultrabeat... To give you some sort of clue on the type of stuff I'd be looking for, along the lines of Tim Deluxe - Just Won't Do, Chamonix - 77 Strings, Space Cowboys - I Would Die 4 U, Richard F - The Way? Any ideas? Also, if anyone can point me in the direction of any record labels that would cater for the above, but offer a download service...as I'm not fussed about owning them on vinyl, but would obviously prefer a reasonable quality recording, it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
just stick a Cd on... there probably isnt much point in you buying loads of stuff u might not play usually? Pete robinsons CD is good
Cheers for the tip off regarding Petes cd's. On downloading them now. Would still prefer to give the mixing a bash though. Maybe didn't explain properly first time around. I'm not planning on playing a full funky set....it'll be stuff from a mixture of genres starting with stuff from the 60's and working my way through the years but obviously later on in the night, I'd like to start to play music with at least a hint of a dancey edge. Thanks for the tips so far
