I think the idea is for it to appeal to as wide an audience as possible but it actually does the opposite

    Re: genres

If that was on DontStayIn.com it's because people make their personalised event calenders with their preferred genres, so if a night lists its styles of music as all of those genres then it will get more circulation and will be seen by more people.

Could just be cash grabbing cockney promoters trying their hardest to pull people in. OR a lame flyer designer.. or the most fucked up 1 hour sets in existance!

On the reverse, I laughed for ages after receiving a flyer for a gabba night in Newcastle, that stated

"Come dressed as a ponce and you don't get in"

    Fkin Quality!

To be honest all the different genre's mean sod all in my eyes - if I like a tune i'll buy it or play it.... take a tune like Aquatic by Robimon for example.....played at pitch it could be classified as prog or warmup stuff.....increase that up to +8 or +10 then it becomes a bit of a trance monster.... Stephen can tell you about that! Remember Phoenix Knights matey?

static dropped an old bassgenerator tune in his proggy/techy warm up set last night and no one even noticed

it was from 1992 ish and it went down a treat

i think the only 3 people who recognised it was me, maccas and jay (unit 13)

we have found that putting something accross as "jacking",funky, tribal, dirty etc etc usually will attract the "ethnic" or black groups to a gig...this is done quite often in london and birmingham/manchester areas..
as mentioned b4 its probs just some cockney promoter trying to appeal to a bigger audience.even tho on the night there wil be little difference in the music
