And Geordie, if you wanna know anything about Goa (including which chemists to get you 'prescription' from - they are not all safe), I'm your man

Firstly, don't just stay in Goa, take a two day trip to Hampi to see ancient India, its a breath taking place. I would say the best place to for you would be Baja Beach - great nightlife, but not full on 'druggy' place (go to Anjuna or Aramblo beaches for that). There are four nightclubs you will hear of. Titos’ is the most famous, but is quite sleazy. They did hold a spiritual music festival when I was there, which was excellent. Full of hippies smoking away - the food stands make a killing Mambo’s, another club, is run by the owners of Tito’s. I never went, though I believe it’s quite mainstream and run of the mill. Club Cabana is a nice nightclub. It’s on top of a cliff outdoors, and is all you can drink for about 8 quid. It has a pool, lush seating etc. The music policy is strictly R&B, Hip Hop, and House though. They also try to make it difficult for ‘stag’s’ to get in (single men), hence they make an incentive for couple’s to go, like ladies get in free night’s. Moving on to where the action is – Psy-trance. You’ll hear this all over Goa; in the markets, bar’s and so on. The only real nightclub which plays it is Paradiso. It’s an amazing club, and the setting is unreal. It’s also part funded by the government, so is never raided, and has a dealer stood wit h the bouncers at the entrance. He is Indian, but looks like a well built Rasta, so his nickname is Jamaica. I’ll let the write up in the link below explain more. http://www.goahub.com/entertainment/...iso-disco.html The big party day is Wednesday, flea market day in Anjuna. Market starts at 9ish. Winds down at 5. People then make their way down to Nine Bar, Curlies, or other type beach shack, to watch the sunset, and then dance away to psytrance. People then head down to Paradiso to continue partying. There are lots of psytrance type bars and beach shacks around Anjuna/Vagator - example below, which we went to on our second last night in Goa. http://youtube.com/watch?v=vO5EjMprnfM&mode=related&search= Another example http://youtube.com/watch?v=-2EYkP_eiXA&mode=related&search= And these places are the best place to go to find out where the psytrance parties, which start at 4am are at (they are in forest now instead of on the beaches, due to a Police Crack down on beach parties) Palolem beach, right in the south of Goa, is the most idealistic beach you can imagine, everyone moves in slow motion. Anyway, Café Del Mar opens 24 hours, has lush beach shacks for about 3 quid a night, and has DJ’s on every night. http://cafedelmarpalolem.com/ Dancing Shiva down the bottom of the beach has regular events, and is probably the closest thing to a beach party you will experience in Goa, unless your really lucky. Goa is cheap as fuck, you won't believe how much so! Check out this for a great honest 'travaller' guide to Goa http://www.roadjunky.com/guide/323/goa-travel-guide-online Phew
