Good Looking Ne Women Student Finola Wennekes and graduate Melissa Bullock are the only two girls from the region to be selected as "High Street Honeys" in the contest run by FHM magazine. Next week the pair - both nominated by their proud fellas - will find out if they have made it into the top 10. Half-Dutch Finola, 22, of Guisborough, Teesside, is currently studying at Sunderland University. She said: "My boyfriend is always trying to get me to go for things like this so I thought I would give it a try for a laugh. "The photo is not as saucy as it looks . . . we were dressed up for a doctors and nurses' night at university so he just took a few snaps. It's all a bit tongue in cheek, but I am very flattered that I got through." Finola and Melissa were picked from more than 5000 women hoping to earn the title of Britain's hottest "girl next door". Amazingly, there were no finalists from Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Northumberland or Cumbria. Melissa, 21, from Wetherby, North Yorkshire, said: "I have even had blokes coming up to me and asking for my autograph and saying things like `I didn't recognise you with your clothes on'! "But it's very flattering that they have remembered me out of all those girls because the others are gorgeous. "I have done a bit of modelling and promotional work, but to win the competition and have that kind of lifestyle would be fantastic." Spence, Finola goes out with a lad i used to goto college with, who just happens to live down the road from me. I have had the pleasure of meeting her once in the pubs in yarm before. I was fairly smashed though, however i do remember finding out her favourite venue in the NE, which was bajas!

Mellissa Bullock is someone I know of from Leeds. I went to school with the guy who sent the picture in. At school everyone would always cream over her but there were better!
