    HABIT - EWAN PEARSON & KELVIN BROWN - 5th OCT - COSMIC B

In the main room we present a DJ/Producer extraordinaire. Upstairs in the Boudoir, Those That Know take control.

    EWAN PEARSON & KELVIN BROWN

    EWAN PEARSON (SOMA / KOMPAKT)

Be it producing albums such as Tracy Thorn's latest and most excellent 'Out Of The Woods', his own dj sets and prior work for Soma, remixes for a veritable who's who that includes the Pet Shop Boys, The Chemical Brothers and Depeche Mode, and it's safe to say Ewan Pearson can do no wrong.

With minimal being the prevailing theme of the techno world, the musical equivalent of writing a word over and over until it has lost all meaning; it's refreshing to stumble upon someone as anomalous as the highly inventive Ewan Pearson. Long after his days of being a skint self-employed musician, and 11 years on since his first record was pressed, it's quite obvious Ewan Pearson has undoubtedly found his groove and his sound is anything but soulless or uninspired. And his ever-changing, avant-garde productions seem to always surprise even the most jaded of ears. Offbeat yet on point, with a charmingly unpretentious disposition, Pearson makes pop-friendly music drenched in bass and sprinkled with addictive melodies. From his beginnings on Birmingham's Bosting label as Villa America and Dirtbox, to his highly celebrated work on Soma as Maas, to his ever-expanding DJing career, Ewan Pearson has quickly climbed the ranks as one of electronic music's most prodigious underground idols.

He’s also no slouch as a DJ either. Last year’s 'Sci-Fi Vol. 1' on Soma Records took electro house by the scruff of the neck and gave it a good shake. He has also just compiled a most excellent mix for Fabric, which shifts from abrasive, percussive workouts to sublime, sparkling electronics with ease.

    KELVIN BROWN (EYES DOWN/ELECTRIC CHAIR)

Kelvin grew up in Coventry, first exposed to music through hip hop and reggae, and became involved in the rapidly expanding Drum and Bass scene in the Midlands of the early 90s. He moved to Manchester to study, and began to DJ at house parties across the city which led to an Electric Chair residency which, along with his own night Eyes Down, has seen him playing alongside guests such as ?uestlove, Dego, Moodymann, Recloose and Pepe Braddock

Kelvin has developed an increasingly uncompromising music policy, focusing on individual and often challenging selections taking in Jazz, African, Broken Beat, Hip Hop, Disco, House, Detroit Techno, Folk and Reggae. His policy on playing music is simple, if a record is good then it needs to be heard, and it is this refreshing attitude that should keep him on the top of the pile for years to come.

    For club music, its Pearson's

Definately going to be in attendance for Pearson!

In the US @ the mo and I will need some serious ear cleansing from the drone of R&B thats out here.

Tiesto is on tonight in Orlando but @ $40 a ticket and a flight tomorrow I don't think I'd make my flight :D

Space Ibiza resident Paul Woolford has said that out of all the guests this year at Space, Ewan Pearson has been the best DJ. Quite a compliment considering some of the DJ's they have had on.

Got a feeling he is gonna absolutely rock it :)

I can't wait for this like.

Proper constant countdown clock in my head.

As Dr. Evil would probably put it: "I feel like a fricking Bomb".
