Could be interesting - the fact that the Hamas group is known for being supporters (and organisers) of suicide attacks may seem bad, but if they're going to be recognised as a political agent by the USA, UK, etc. then they're going to have to get their act together (or face invasion from George W?? lol)

So if they think "Crap we better do something" - at least they already have support from the people who are committing the terrorist attacks rather than another party winning and being like "Hey stop that!" with no-one listening.

Although it's not official yet! We'll have to wait and see....

They don't have support from terrorists, they are the terrorists. Hamas has admitted to organising about 60 suicide attacks since 2000, that's more than 10 a year.

They're so far removed from being a political party that they don't even know what to do once they get into power. Their victory's not even confirmed and they're already talking about forming a politicla partnership with the Fatah party to decide how to run the country. Which would basically be a coalition with the outgoing government running the country, but Hamas having the final say and running round bombing people who didn't comply.

To be fair, they do say they're going to maintain the ceasfire, but how long will that last.

As oppossed to Hamas a I am, they already retain control of several palestinian cities and seem to be doing a better job than Fatah of governing them.

I'd be more interested to see how the international communty responds the next time they target civilians.

And the Fatah government came unbelievably close to peace, you wont find peace through aggression.

The israeli goverment might aswell use the stars and stripes as the national flag.

i dont condone the actions of hamas but they are clearly what the people want.

don't be fucking stupid, Hamas are a terrorist with stated aim of wiping out Israel... these are the people who put suicide bombers on Israeli buses

Don't know what the fucking palestinians think they're doing electing a terrorist group.... hardly gonna help the peace process along, and Joe I don't think they've been getting votes because they've done a good job of governing the palestinian cities they've got control of.

    It's a fucking disaster

But the "people" also want to destroy Israel!

I am from the view that peace in the middle east is the utopian outcome... Not a continued war.

there'll never be peace when people are claiming a country to be there's and exploiting the original inhabitants.
