    Does anyone know any decent cheapish hotels in the city centre?

    Got a mate coming up and trying to find one. Not having much luck at the min.

    not a hotel as such but a cheap stay, the back packers inn opposite yates.....

    give them a try

    or the travelodge is quite cheap, rooms for 15 quid if you book 3/4 weeks advance....

    Tbh mate your best bet is to get a place outside the city in Gateshead etc such as the Jurys Inn on the Team Valley which is only minutes away from town really well that would be my suggestion anyways
