What is it your scared of? Have you driven before?

Confidence in driving comes in time...it can be a bit scary at first cause your trying to remember what your feet and hands are doing and also concentrate on what the other traffic is doing but after a good few lessons you start doing more and more things automatically so your mind is more on the road than on the actual pedals and steering wheel.

Get yourself a good instructor that someone has reccomended, and DONT get in a car for a lesson of a friend or a family member!! Just do that when your confident enough to know how to drive and just want to practise!

I'm learning to drive and for the 1st few lessons i was well scared, now i love it, it's just a case of watching out for the nutters on the road and responding to the car.

I can't wait to pass my test, just need to get the hang of reversing round corners. TASK!!

    Good Luck hunny :D

Driving fills me with an almost tangible fear.

Had driving lessons but never managed to get over the phobia. Every time a car came the other way I had to stop. Roundabouts fill me with the fear of God. Idiots vs. Other idiots who want to be first. Horrible.

I am of course a total pussy though.

As the advert said though "Try it, you might like it"

I take it it'll be an intensive course or summit like that you'll go for?

Im onto my 5th lesson now and getting the hang of it, was shit scary at first but its starting to come more naturally now.

You would be lucky to pass your test before December anyway becuase it takes 8weeks to book your theory then there is a waiting list for tests aswell, you could do an intensive course or something though.

However you do it its likely to cost A LOT of money (about £600-700)

If you get a good instructor they should be good at putting you at ease etc. Just remember, while you have your L-plates on most people steer well clear, so there is less need to be nervous! Driving isn't at all scary once you get the hang of it, and then you'll wonder how you ever managed before.

I can recommend Alex at Discover Driving, if he is still there (I had him as my instructor about four years ago), though probably not much use for you as he is based in Team Valley.

I love driving, it's a great feeling imo, I think it's because of the independence it gives you! I was slightly nervous to start with, but after my first couple of lessons my instructor said I was pretty good and had no worries about me. One thing though, if you don't feel comfortable with your instrutor for any reason, or you think he isn't telling you thinks that he should be(this totally happened to me!), then get a new one. It took me until I changed instrutor's to be pass my test!
