It will always be my number 1 However i have started getting into Sasha & Digweed with me sorting my downloads out - cant fault them two blokes at all and i do like what they play, i also was well into my Funky House but with me not going to Hed Kandi anymore that died a death ! I wouldnt know where to start when it comes to buying there CD's !
Nail on the head there Paul Trance is shit hot! Its all a personal opinion as i've said time and time again we cant all like trance or any other genre of music for that matter so there is no point trying to say one is better than the other. It be to you but to someone else its not to its a pointless argument imo
Trance done properly is still superb, only trouble is a lot of the stuff that gets churned out isn't all that good.
And if u posted this in the main forum it would have had a lot more replies and I bet some of the people who posted saying they were going off trance would have said they love it too.....its all about being seen to be cool for some people!
I know, and a lot of people will have gone off trance but a lot of people will go along with what other people say to seem "cool". This is one of the reasons why a lot of people don't go clubbing IMO, because it isn't cool anymore! Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of people have genuinely gone off it but others just like to follow the crowd!
There are a few reasons why people aren't going clubbing anymore and I highly doubt the cool factor has any real impact on national statistics. There is a huge crisis with the current pub/club industry (how many chains are shutting down multiple branches) be this because we have less petty cash as a nation or nightlife habbits are changing... I don't know... If I did I'd be a millionaire. Also trance/hard house have dominated uk clubland for the past few years and I doubt they'll go away for a long long time, however as far as genres go - neither are very versatile and both are very repetative after a while... Trance/Hard House clubbing has a very short shelf life, its hard to find trance/hard house clubbers - who've been doing it for years and years. I think these are the main reasons that you seeing people not going clubbing... it has very little do with being cool
I think the cool factor has a lot more to do with it than you think. Your points have as much to do with it as well, the fact that we are in a recession obviously has a lot to do with it but if it wasn't for that pesky cool factor.....
of course fashions come and go, I'm not questioning this... but fashions change cos people get bored and want change. Its not as basic as suddenyl ebing deemed uncool. It becomes uncool because people tire of it.
Yeah, I know that and I agree that a lot of people are bored of it, others (maybe some who started clubbing because it was cool) are staying away because it is no longer cool!
