I was gonna buy a portable external hard drive but..

I was only going to so that I could take my films/tv shows/games to my m8's house instead of having to burn them to disk all the time. This is all well and good but it still sucks that I can only watch stuff downstairs in my house if it's on a hard drive otherwise I have to burn it to disk anyway to take upstairs.

Is there any hardware that combines the two? Hard drive that is interchangeable with a pc and a tv (ipod video sort of half-achieves this)? I might have read on here a while back of someone getting some similar kinda hardware and I want it.

By TV hard drive do you mean a dvd player/recorder with a hard drive in it? If so, (or if not, even) are they able to connect to a pc?

Actually i doubt they do. What it would need is usb and support for xvid/divx.

    I'm suprised i haven't seen a hard drive version of the dvd-divx players :s

I don't have a 360, or a home network :p (hence my need for a standalone piece of hardware that can translate pc movie's into something watchable on a tv)
