    Icy Cars

Isn't it funny how people spend like 20 minutes scraping a porthole out of the ice over their windows....?

There was a guy this morning next to mine going hell for leather with an ice scraper and getting nowhere.

I walk out a few minutes later with the kettle, pour warm water over the windows and locks..bit of deicer...and in the car and away in like 2 mins

The guy still hadn't finished

you dont have to use warm water, just use cold as it is still at a higher temperature than the ice!

He was probably muttering something like "thinks he's clever now, but just wait until his windscreen cracks" as you were driving off.

HOWEVER, because the water is cold, in some situations it will cool too quick and make your problem worse wont it??

I'm stick with the warm :D

I sometimes need really hot water on the locks cos they freeze, leaving me standing like total numpty for 10 minutes trying to get the door open

Why not just buy a can of anti-freeze spray? Clears your windscreen in seconds and won't shatter it.

    !

OH MY GOD yous are fucking joking arent you???

Pouring hot water over your windscreen when it is freezing cold means it is more likely to crack due to the sudden temperature increase!

    Insane!

Why do you think he was scraping it off/using de-icer!!!!

You'll not be laughing so hard when one morning you walk out to pull your 'trick' and the windscreen shatters because it's been heated from below zero to close to 50/60degrees.

CAR WINDSCREENS ARE NOT MADE FROM PYREX.
