Jazzie B and Batacuda Sound Machine, Durham, Friday 9th July ‘It’s all about expression’. Influential DJ, producer and crafter of some of the UK’s most fresh and original sounds, Jazzie B remains true to the spirit of Soul II Soul bringing funk, hip hop, soul, garage and good vibes to some of the world’s best venues. Batucada Sound Machine are a 13 piece band from Auckland NZ who deliver blistering live performances with soulful vocals and jiving horns, fusing percussive samba with hip hop, Afro beat and dub. Their fast rise to popularity has seen them perform alongside global heavyweights such as Damien Marley, Michael Franti and The Cat Empire. The event is presented in association with Those That Know, a North East based collective of musically inspired friends who DJ and promote club nights, sharing past, present and future sounds with like minded individuals.
