    Jury Duty

    Has any had to do it? My mum rang yesterday to tell me, theres a letter at home and ive gotta do it!!...

    But i'm at uni down in Liverpool...Do you think they aint realised i'm still down here? Also, i have to do it and which clashes with my 21st birthday! Shit or what!?

    Anyway, how long does it last? what happens?? Thanks peeps x

    One of me mates has been on this for the last 2 weeks or so. He's been bored as fuck and has not been at his normal job - so hasn't been paid. Then, on his last day on duty before returning to work, he was picked for a case so now he's stuck there without pay until it's over.

    An employer has to by law continue to pay any employee who goes on jury duty, get your mate told.

    i did it years ago and you HAVE to do it they will remburse you for travel so if you have to come back from uni they will have to pay you for it . it usually last's 2weeks (depending on the type of case you get if it runs ove then you have to stay on. i got a child abuse cace but then one of the witnesses knew me so i got dismissed which i was happy about as i didn't want to hear all the evidence on that case

    My sister's boyfriend has just finished his 2 weeks. Didn't get called for the first week and then got a really interesting case this week so he really enjoyed it.

    Loads of people try and get out of it but I'd love to do it, I like a good courtroom.:oops: :love:
