Many Dead in Glasgow Explosion Rubble from the collapsed building littered the surrounding streets A number of people are feared dead and others trapped in a huge explosion at a plastics factory in Glasgow. About 60 people are also thought to have been injured in the blast which has demolished much of the Stockline Plastics building, in Grovepark Street, in the west end. Emergency services have launched a major rescue operation to free those people trapped in the building. About 100 people are believed to work in the plastics factory. Firefighters and police officers at the scene were seen searching through the rubble of the building while passers by helped treat survivors. The worst of the casualties were taken away on stretchers by paramedics. Dozens of workers and on-lookers gathered in the street outside the factory gates. The building was all but destroyed in the blast with rubble collapsing onto parked cars. A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed it had three special operations teams and a mobile control unit which specialises in handling major incidents at the scene of the blast, along with 16 ambulance crews. A spokeswoman for NHS Greater Glasgow said accident and emergency rooms at the city's Western Infirmary, Royal Infirmary and Southern General hospitals were preparing to take any casualties.
It's up near MaryHill Road, I have mates that stay that neck of the woods. Seems like a factory explosion (4 story building ) rather than anything more sinister, plastics companies sometimes have a lot of volotile chemicals on site.
there's not much more about it on the news yet, doesn't seem terrorist related. just an awful coincidence. Must have been a massive explosion.
