It was the launch night at Sugar last Saturday, but as far as I know the owner of Sugar has pulled the whole thing. Not totally sure though.
I went to the launch, its the new bar (Cube) above Sugar, it was a good night and free to get in The owner did turn the power of at two though with no explanation!
Dont know all the facts, but I was told last night that Sam ( owner of Sugar, Powerhouse etc) has pulled it because he reckons that Nice were taking his regulars away from the Powerhouse, I wasnt there but from what i've heard it was normal nice crowd! and he pulled the power because the police arrived and he wanted everyone out.
Yeah it was the usual Nice crowd, although when l walked past Sugar there was no-one in at all! Not sure if thats normal though
Well, I went on that Sat nite and was told by the bouncers that it was all off cos the management said it was poachin customers from the Powerhouse, but apparently the manager of the Powerhouse had asked em to hold it there. Not sure if anythin more has happened bout it tho!!!
Nice plays house generally, but you do get the odd strange tune thrown in for good measure! I've heard rumours that it will be starting back up again, though not at Sugar.
