    Are you with o2?

I spent a bit of time weighing up the alternative networks and what they offered, told a few porkies too :p

Also gave them the "well I have been a customer for five years" spiel

At first, they wanted £120 for a Samsung D600, and £25 a month for 200 mins and 500 texts. I got that down to 70 for the phone and £20 for the tarrif, but I said I wasnt happy with that.

Rang back the next day, luckily spoke to a really canny lass, who gave me a better tarriff, and suggested the nokia as an alternative to the samsung because she could get away with giving it to me for free (your upgrade is based on spending you see) - slight catch, although not a problem for me, is that its an 18 month contract, which gave me more leverage to get a better deal, but im happy with that.

Just takes a bit of blagging, dont just settle for the bog standard terms.

    My mate has 500 mins/400 texts for £26 with a free K750i

You could probably get that down to £30 if you sign up for 18 months, with any phone you want!

Sorry to piss on your fire but you havent blagged it at all

They will always offer you the worst deal first and then they will gradually make your offer better and better until you either accept it or they reach their ceiling and wont offer you anything else.

Remeber , people in call centres dont give a shit that youve 'been a customer for 5 years'.....they only care about their bonus and getting you off the phone asap

Well I didnt accept the standard terms, or the second offer, or the third...

Some people may have just said "ok" immediately, and got a gash deal..300 mins and 450 texts should be like £45 a month...and that phone isnt meant to be free....

I'd say that was a fair attempt personally

Think I am gradually retracting my previous statements

Its all well and good offering me a deal but I am being totally messed about.

I've now been told 3 times that the phone will "definatley be in by..." and i've just rang now and been told that there isnt a date on it.

The other handsets they have offered are absolutley gash with the exception of the Motorola Razr

And the lass i spoke to was totally stroppy and said that it was against the data protection act to tell me if the phone was in stock without going through security first, what the FUCK does that have to do with the DPA!?

"Hi yeah to save going throgh all the security can you just tell me if the nokia 6111 is in stock"
"sorry you have to go through security first due to the data protection act"
    "nobody else has said that"
    "well its the law sir"
gave her it anyway since they DO hang up if you try to argue...then she immediately replied
    "sorry it's not in yet"

    :bang:

I asked what phones were avaialble for free...she says "well do you not have the internet"
"yes, but they all say free yet when i ring, i am told they aren't free"
"well i dont have all day to tell you all the free phones so take a look at these....<shit phones>

I've also been told 3 different prices for the phone I originally wanted so they are totally bullshitting me now like

Shes also the third person to reccommend the Motorola rokr...suprisingly she ALSO has one herself, it seems the entire o2 staff does! They wont accept that I dont like it either

So my patience is wearing thin now!!

    tis like isnt it

Aye the rokr is gash i had a go the other day, i generally dont like motorola anyway!

I like the v3 for its style really it's different.

I know if i move to orange they wont cancel the contract so im stuck with them for now like

    True!

I suppose it's not their fault if the delivery is being delayed like, I wont get that tarriff elsewhere so I suppose at the end of the day I should just wait it out and see what happens!

I'm dissapointed at the other phones offered like, my mates are getting much better handsets for free...then again they do spend like £80 a month
