Keine Kunst are excited to be putting on the after party for TUSK Festival yet again after bringing Hieroglyphic Being last year. This year we’re delighted to welcome Ruf Dug – head of the Ruf Kutz label. His reputation seems to have gathered momentum over the last couple of years, but he’s been doing this shit for a long time. As usual, it’s pointless trying to pin down the kind of music our guests will play. Terms such as disco, house, acid, techno, afrobeat and so on always seem to crop up, yet each guest sounds different. Safe to say, expect various mutations of the above. What does matter, however, is that our guests are avid record collectors, and Ruf Dug is by no means an exception. So, without further ado, here are a few words from the man himself, followed by some cool links for your listening pleasure. “LOOK MAN I DON'T LIKE THIS BIO SHIT... I TRIED A FEW DIFFERENT ONES AND THEY DON'T WORK. MY RECORDS ARE RAW TRACKS FOR THE CLUB THAT FUCK AROUND WITH THE CONCEPT OF COPYRIGHT A BIT BUT NOBODYS MAKING $$$$ SO ITS ALL GOOD. I HAD MY FIRST RECORD ON POPULAR PEOPLES FRONT AND THEN POWERED UP RUF KUTZ, DONE A FEW RELEASES NOW AND SOME GO FOR BEADS ON DISCOGS. I LIVE IN MANCHESTER, IT FUCKIN KILLS UP HERE, WE HAVE A GREAT SCENE. I WAS BORN HERE AND SPENT MOST OF MY LIFE HERE EXCEPT FOR 8 YEARS WHEN I LIVED IN SYDNEY AND GOT INVOLVED WITH SOME MAD WAREHOUSE SQUAT PARTY SCENES.” LINKS AND MIXES First up, here’s Ruf Dug appearing on Boiler Room with Keine Kunst favourites, Soft Rocks and Beautiful Swimmers: http://boilerroom.tv/ruf-dug-45-min-mix/ Ruf Dug’s Soundcloud page here, full of delicious tracks and mixes: https://soundcloud.com/rufdug Ruf Kutz website, full of other fine treats: http://www.rufkutz.net/ Red Bull Music Academy interview: http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/magazine/interview_ruf_dug Ruf Kutz Tumblr: http://rufkutz.tumblr.com/ Ruf Dug mix for Test Pressing: http://testpressing.org/2011/04/mix-ruf-dug-underwater-mixtape/ Ruf Dug mix for Noise in My Head: http://www.noiseinmyhead.com.au/2012/10/1518/ TICKETS Tickets are £7, or £5 for those attending TUSK Festival.
