    Old Hard Drive Help?

I have an old hard drive that I want some photo's and things off, but I haven't been on it for a while and have no idea what the password is. I've tried every combination of anything I would normally use and nothing.

Is there any way of getting into it? XxXxX

    Thanks :)

is it a USB pen drive or an actual internal/external hard drive? what make?

When does it ask for the password? does it have some sort of encryption software on it or something?

erm... an actual hard drive, packard bell and it's to log on like the one you set to go on to your user area. It is about 10yr old, lol it hasn't been used properly for a couple of years, but I did manage to get on it about 6 months ago as must have guessed the right password but I can't remember it anymore.

ahh so it's when it boots into windows? u get the windows log on screen?

is it windows XP? if so, what i would do it, turn the computer on, BEFORE it get the Windows XP loading screen, press F8 - select 'Start in safe mode' You'll then be able to log on with the administrator account that might not have a password.

Failing that, wouldn't it let you grab whatever you like if it was just plugged into a pc as a secondary drive?
