Paedo's - Should we have their addresses?

A minister is being sent to the US to view their laws on the 'Megans Law' as to giving out the addresses of where peado's live to concerned parents

SHOULD their addresses be given out to the public? if yes, what would u do with that information? What should be done with them?

sensible answers please - u know who i mean

its a really tough one like... i think NO we shouldnt... however they should b closley watched by probation etc.

however they should also do proper sentences 4 there crimes - thus most wud rot in jail anyway

I don't think the addresses should be given out to the public. Wasn't there a case not so long ago when a list of addresses was 'leaked', where one address was wrongly given, so some poor innocent individual got firebombed or something?

We do have a judicial system in this country, whether you think it works sufficiently well or not. If these lists were published, it would just result in vigilante action. If you think the judicial system is wrong, you should act to change that, rather than take it upon yourself to give out any punishment you feel is right.

how do we protect kids from them? 98% re-offend after convictions

i also dont think we should know their addresses - there was a story about a 'paedoatricians' house was stoned cause some feckless joey got it wrong

    there's no obvious answer

if we had their addresses they would get kicked to fuck and their hosue vandalised... so yes we should have their addresses

seriously, its a tough one cos we need to know if any are in the area but if some people knew their address theyd get murdered.

they should be tagged with gps locator units to make sure that if they go near school or playgrounds the police are alerted

I personally don't believe paedophiles should be reintroduced into society... I feel a public register would be vulnerable to mistaken identities - but I know if I had a child I'd want to know if there were any threats to its safety in the immidiate area.

personally, i wouldn't want to know - or else i'd be worried too much - i'd rather just do my best as a parent to make sure nothing happened.

if i knew where a person lived, that had done something to my child, i'd happily go to prison for my actions i'd take in revenge. it's not nice and it's not the clever thing to do - but i'd make sure that person suffered as much as i could possibly make a human suffer

No we shouldnt have there address we should have there heads !

Im sorry but this crime to me is worse than murder and should be met with capital punishment ! obviously there will be cases susch as that of graham rix where by all acounts he was conned into thinking the girl was 16 when she was only 14 that should carry a lesser sentance but i really do think these people who rape and ruin young childrens lives should be made to pay . It disgusts me that this sort of thing is happening and really makes me feel scared I dont think i would be able to control myself if something like thst happend to a friend or a member of my family !

I dont think the addresses should be given to the general public, but a special police unit should keep a close watch on them, and the GPS tag idea would be usefull

So what would you (honestly) do with that info? Say if you were a parent?

tags and curfews would HELP but not stop it. most cases happen with close family and friends, not just at night time and around schools

A curfew wouldn't be that much use though, as (I imagine) it would be far easier to snatch a child during the day when they are out and about.
