Paul Lancaster (Fragile Recordings) - August 2006 Chart Some of the tunes that are floating my boat this month include... 1. City Hunters - My Sound (Fragile Recordings) Huge tribal house track with gorgeous female vocals from up and coming French DJs / producers Raf & Lenz. Drop this tune and watch the dancefloor erupt! My new secret weapon which is due out on Fragile next month. :groovy: 2. Tim Andresen - An Illusion (Magic Wand mix) (Fragile Recordings) Debut solo release from one of Denmark's biggest DJs and 1 half of production duo Professional Losers. It's hard to choose between Tim's 2 mixes but this one just shades it for me with it's monster bassline and sweeping strings. 'This world is an illusion...we live as we dream...' 3. Timmy Vegas & Andy Daniell - Disco Shit (XXX mix) (Blackwiz) Starts out as a jacking acid house affair but builds and builds into something so much more. Only ever had 1 disco shit in my life when I was still a drunk teenager and it wasn't very pleasant but this is pure joy from start to finish. :mrgreen 4. Kurd Maverick - The Rub (CR2) You've probably all heard this by now so will know what all the fuss is about. Easily one of the biggest tracks of the summer. 5. Dave Robertson - 1 Dunk Wonder (The Electric RePress) (Twisted Frequency) Dave Robertson shows us yet again what a talented and diverse producer he is with one of the finest 'electro house' tracks I've heard in a while on one of the UK's most exciting new digital download labels. 6. Deepgroove - Girls & Boys (Tune Brothers Vocal mix) (UMM) Tbh I wasn't really a big fan of the original early / mid-90s track although I did like the vocals. Lots of new mixes to choose from but the Tune Brothers mix is the one that does it best and has been causing the most damage for me on the dancefloor. 7. Dan Welton & Marrocco ft Helen K - By Your Side (Fragile Recordings) 2 of Switzerland's finest new DJs and producers remind us why we all fell in love with progressive house in the first place and show us how it's done best. Deep, driving percussive grooves with trippy vocals and an infectious groove. 8. Rob Le Pitch - Dobar Tek (Fragile Recordings) Following his recent release on Aquasky's Passenger label, up and coming Swedish house producer provides us with this uplifiting, hip-shaking house anthem with more strut than John Travolta. Reminds me of the type of house music I used to hear at Up Yer Ronson in the mid-90s. 9. Fucking Stupid Idiots - Fucking Face (CDR) Quirky, freaky, acid house / electro from Switzerland. First heard this on Tim Sheridan's Veryverywrong CD free with DJ Mag and managed to track them down. Hopefully set for release on Fragile in the near future. 10. Paul Bug - Be The Fool / Inbetween DJs - Eddie's Gona Hurt Ya (Fragile Recordings) Groovy, jackin tech-house EP from Liverpool based DJs / producers and Disco Revolt label owners Paul Bug and the Inbetween DJs. 11. City Hunters - Be Beep (Fragile Recordings) 2nd track from Raf & Lenz for our label. If you're looking for a big, fuck off electro house track then look no further! 12. Till West & DJ Delicious - Same Man (Extended Vocal mix) (Data Records) Some people will probably think it's not very cool to chart a Data / Ministry Of Sound track but when it sounds this good I don't really give a fuck. Fantastic, sassy vocals and big fat electro never fail to work.
