Launched at the start of September, the competition will end in October with the grand final being held at the first Promise Hard on Wednesday 16th. The lucky winner of this fantastic competition will get his/her own set at Promise as well as having his/her set broadcast live on Metro FM; the premiere radio station for Newcastle. The contest is structured with 42 DJs in the first round, showcasing six contestants every Friday at The Egypt Club between 7-10pm. Two lucky individuals will go through to the quarter finals from the six heats in the first round. This will progress to semi finals and then the grand final, held at Promise Hard October 16th. The competition is to be judged by promoters Mark Deakin and resident DJs Richard Tulip and Kerry James. Bedroom Bedlam winner and one half of People Get Real, Simon Lister will also stand on the judging panel alongside two Promise clubbers. Judging the DJs on mixing, track selection and the X Factor, this panel of Promise experts will decide on the final winner - giving them an opportunity to stand in the limelight and take a step towards their ultimate dream of DJ superstardom.
