    Religion

Just wondering what religion people follow, and if they aren't religious which religion can they relate with the most.

I'm not religious in the slightest but can draw more from confucianism than any of the others.

im an athiest, which means even if "god" came down from the skies and told me heaven and all that existed i still wouldnt believe it.

however some people who dont believe are agnostic, which means if god came down and told them they would believe it. i dont see how someone can believe in something they have no proof of, but then again, i havent seen zimbabwe with my own eyes but i still believe it exists.

dont get me in to this-ive just done a philosophy lesson about religion.

I was baptised and confirmed in a catholic church. I'm non practising though and usually commit most of my sins on the sabbath.

After all Sunday mornings are for rolling about with the burd (living in sin), bacon rolls, celebrity gossip in the papers and wanking (beastiality) off to Hollyoaks.

I found it helps when faced with a close bereavement. The catholic church is very family based though.

    religion man, what?!

i don't really wanna start coz i'll neva stop but religion really pisses me off. any1 thats eva entered a conversation wi me bout religion knows that i feel very strongly bout this. i know that its supposed to be human nature to believe in a higher being of some kind (just as a dog wants a master) but i can't believe in this day and age that any1 with any intelligence can believe in all the bollox. don't get me wrong, religious teachings e.g. morals and shit are good, but thats all it is as far as i'm concerned, the teaching of whats right and wrong. each to their own too, believe what u want, but don't push the fukka on me.

i love when bible bashers turn up on my door step, i keep them there for hours arguing :D had one guy leave my doorstep, get to the end of my garden path, shake his head and fukked off the other way. think i might have made him reconsider! stew was pissin himself!!!

like i say tho, don't get me started

in answer to ur question tho joe ;) i'd prob sway towards buddhism (just seem like a nice bunch of people)

nice idea, but it just seems in my opinion to be a crock of shit made up thousands of years ago by some clever bloke who set out to keep the world doing right, jesus probably did exist, and he was probably a man who did lots of good for the world, but the idea of god as a omnipitent source of solace and forgiveness and love is idealistic to say the least.
some people believe that the notion of god is an innate idea, that we are born with it, we must decide weather to let it into our lives ourselves.

i told you not to get me started, could you explain what confucianism is and what you draw form that? i dont know what that means.

I'd like to see someone brought up without religious ideas educated/imposed/brainwashed into them and see if they form a belief in god by themselves.

I'd bet everything I own it wouldn't happen.

Where's Jedi and atheist on your list Joe????

Ness surely dismissing all religion due to modern science is just as naive as accepting religion because of your up bringing.

Si it happens all the time....

i dont agree with that, if religion is never mentioned to you throughout your life i doubt very much you would be able to think about god or that big cool elephant called ganesh or summat - if you are not taught it how would you possibly know?
