well, i opened craigs up the other week as we thought the phono leads were at fault... its easy to get inside, no problems...BUT! as long as u have patience with shitloads of tiny screws and i mean SHITLOADS!! then go for it.....i was put off to dig deeper once inside to get to the connections by the sheer amount of screws id have to make sure i didnt lose......bare in mind this wasnt my deck...so i thought nope, not going any further and put it back together again.

its just fiddly thats all......... dont think it would be too hard.

cheers clarky, ive done quite a few of these,im sorry to say they are tricky little customers in fact they are a right bastard to fix it takes a very steady hand and a lot of patients.like fizz said they do have a lot of screws but once you get past them its pretty straight forward but be very careful the connecting strips on the curcuit board are pure bad quality.so be warned,it could turn out very costly in the long run....
my advice take them to aitkien brothers in newcastle {high bridge street}and let them deal with it..
