Not been to that many in town but the wee Italian in Jesmond beside Peak Fitness and Cafe one just off the coast road is a hidden gem. ;)

word. the malmaison is a waste of ££ IMO. You could do loads with the cash you save if u dont stay there...(well, thats what i told my mrs on her bday! :p)

Its part of the buscuit factory art gallery in shiledfield. just off byker bridge. Its really good, and not too expensive....

I didnt actually sort anything out though. We just went for a wander and went into a restaurant we liked the look of. Was just one of the little italian places on Dean Street. It was nice but I want a nice fancy one this time and neither us have a clue :dunce:

Its only £50 to £60 more than the shitty hotels though. The cheapest hotel I could find in town for a weekend is the Jurys Inn and thats £70 a night

All the others were about £50 but had to be minimum 2 night stays

bet you would have ten times more fun going there and staying in a wank hotel than being in a good hotel in newcastle.

isn't jury's inn that new one down towards the telewest?

Restaurantwise, try Beyond in the gate, it's well nice. I've also heard the restaurant in tigertiger's meant to be pretty good.

Going to London has never appealed to me at all. Dunno why though.

I had a great time when we stayed at Mal Maison for valentines day. I dont think it matters that its only Newcastle. We had a really good night the last time but I want to go a little better and go to a nicer restaurant. Thats all I want to change about it :D

seriously the best food in town. not overly expensive either and the service is amazing!

they do the biggest t-bone steak ive ever seen in my life and always cooked to perfection. all of the other food is equally as good too.

its just round the corner from st.james' opposite barker and stonehouse :D

you cant go wrong. my dad takes business customers there before the game and they normally enjoy the meal more
