its nice enough, close to town centre and i think the rent is still pretty low compared to jesmond. flats can be hit and miss.
At least I think they are. There's the big block, which if I remember correctly is Claude Gibb, then there's Lovaine, which are self-catering flats. I could be wrong though. They're on the Sandyford side of the campus.
they are bang on northumbria campus... i stayed in lovaine halls in my 1st year, its where they seemed to put most of the north-easteners and asians, wheras the home counties and european students all piled into garth heads, glenamara and claude gibb they are a total dump and the rooms are about the size of a car-boot... enjoy @b.o.b. - spot on
My first year was in 2000 at Northumbria, I lived in Claude Gibb which was ok, if only for the fact my room was one of the few that got decorated. I don't know what they are like now, but Lovaine was pretty shit when I was there, painted breeze block walls etc. Lived in Chester Crescent in Sandyford in second year, the area is pretty nice, just not many take aways, banks etc. Close to town though.
