Sankeys Sankeys-mint club! A few of us went down there on friday to see Sasha....was really good. Everything about the place reminded me of foundation... the sweaty beams, sweat rain, dark, steps down to the dancefloor! Was totally rammed like and full of older people, i felt so young!! haha! Any of you's been down before? what did you think?
Everyone seemed to have individually agreed it was like Foundation seperately before we'd even spoke to each other about it. It was very much like Foundation in a lot of respects, from the walls outside to the way the dancefloor was. It had a quality terrace but I found the dancefloor a bit small and restricted and I didn't like the way the ceiling was pretty low. I generally prefer clubs to have a high ceiling (which is one of things I dislike about digital, personal preference though, I think it's just one of the only things I constantly compare to Foundation). The toilets were also pretty bad, narrow corridor consisting of queues for girls and boys and the sinks crammed in there aswell. They let far too many people in aswell (apparently an extra 500 to cover Sashas costs according to some Manc girl I was talking to on the terrace). Pretty good club and very good/friendly crowd, think I'd much prefer it if it wasn't so rammed. To be fair, I don't think I've willingly left a dancefloor for anything more than a toilet break in the last 3 years but it was just a little bit much that night.
Aye, the terrace was class and the cinema with big comfy seats. Had the film 24 hour party people on! class. Tolilets were terrible, tiny and rammed the whole night. People were ok, not that friendly....i thought a lot of them were rude actually!! None of them knew the words 'excuse me' or 'please' or 'sorry'. Met a few scousers, they were nice tho!! lol You ruined your hair on that sweatbox of a dance floor Rossy!!
sankeys is a canny club like, cant remember if it was sankeys where the toilets were overflowing with piss and it was coming out onto the dance floor. is there a massive black box thing that everyone sits on outside the upstairs bogs?
Upstairs toilets were closed Really liked sankeys even though it didnt feel like i spent much time on the dance floor at all. The terrace was a total godsend, and it was nice to go out and just sit about and chat without having to go into another room with music you might not like - the fresh air was good aswell Sasha is still playing his prog trance which ticks all my boxes - was outside when COMA was playing but i bet Miller was in heaven when that was dropped Great afters as well - although an entire day in bed yesterday had to be done to get over it Would definately go back, and me and my gal both had a great time and really enjoyed seein everyone again
I fucking love Sankeys!! One of the best clubs I've been too! Intimate, dark, total sweatbox, low ceiling, etc! Sasha was fucking superb. Kept the pace going all night with fucking quality techy proggy house!! Best dj in the world Canny after's bar Rossy's undesirables
