Sasha In The Metro Paper (Today)

Sasha on being known as King of Prog:

"I dont even play the records that come out of that scene anymore. They dont intrest me one bit. Some producers that I used to champion still send me their work & it baffles me how they haven't been able to move on. There was a time & place for that sound, though, when John Digweed & I were playing at Twilo, doing these 10 hour sets in a dark room with this amazing sound system that made everything completely overwhelming - but that was 4 bloody years ago"

    Re: words

I dont really agree with you there mate, he moves with the times although he is VERY arrogant about it. He's still one of the best but I think he has the wrong approach about it if you know what I mean?

i just dont like it how he thinks the sound hes playing is the only decent one, and that because hes moved on it makes everyone playing what he used to musically uneducated or clueless because hes now sick of it.

he didn't quite say that though, not in that statement anyway.

Maybe his arrogance aids his position? I love him.

or maybe the people that made music he loved 4 years ago just love the same music, and don't jump ship so easily when it isn't deemed the coolest genre anymore!

i rate sasha very highly and think he is pretty god like really...but putting the point across that he playes felix da housecat as clearly as he did makes him look like another try-hard who fancies himself as an electro-punk cool guy!

as a pioneer of uber-coolness...james would tell you felix is more up his own arse than sasha, as he thinks he invented, and will now kill off the electro-scene!

good music is good music no matter who it is by and what genre some loser categorises it into!

felix's devin dazzle cd is a fookin disgrace...if he was tryin to kill the electro scene he's done a good job...the whole album sounds well tired and bored and reeks of tryin too hard!

its officially the coolest uncool record of the year!:monkey:

as for sasha....he's right about the producers not comin up with new goods....but aint that the same for the trance scene aswell?
