Aren't a lot of them run by Noda? You could try giving them a call. Or the office at Central Station (not sure if that is the Noda office anyway).

    Good luck!

    Things we did

    a) Ring police

    b) Go to the lost property bit at Central Station

    c) If you went to any garages/24 hour shops on the way home then get hold of them and see if they have cctv footage

    d) pray

1st things 1st ring 0191 2221888 its the noda firm at Central 'if you havent already' tell them everything, they should have a record of what drivers were where if not inform the police, theyl be able to track the driver perhaps via CCTV even if its for a registration number then work and tracing him that way last thing if no luck go to the papers 'it may sound xtreme but it may just work' hopefully youl get them back if you want any help ringing about im only a pm away

hmm that's a bastard mate, happened to me a few years ago and I managed to retrieve it somehow.

You're gonna have to just bite the bullet and ring every taxi firm in the phone book up just in case, as your only hope would be if the driver was being honest and handed it over to lost property at the taxi office.

While it's worth checking with the police to see if the bags been handed in with them, and maybe leaving a report with them so they can contact you if it get's handed in, the chances of them doing anything else are pretty much zero I'm afraid.

If this doesn't work, you could always print up a few hundred bw flyers offering a 50 quid reward, stand at central station for a few hours handing them out to every taxi driver that comes through.

Could be worth writing a short letter to the chronical, see if you can get it printed in their letters page.

    good luck

Under law they're 'supposed' to hand it into the police, its a long shot but i'd give it a try.

    Good luck!

Wherever you got picked up, ask the manager of the building to see if they have a CCTV camera operating outside ... then hopefully you might be able to find out the car regestration plate, then follow it up from there.

all black cabs must be registered with their local council, you could try ringing those. Other than that, ring the police - just say the driver threatened you and get a crime ref no - :D

If you can find anyone with the registration number on CCTV (where you were picked up?), it should then be easy to trace the driver through the Council.
